The duo has been proclaimed as one of the Best Artist of 2014 and their latest album "Don't Count On Me" as an "electronic art-pop masterpiece" by FourCulture Magazine, U&I Magazine named their single "Queen of Chinatown" as #1 Single of 2014, Bandcamp described it as "super moody pop music that's turning heads", and Buzzbands LA, Free Bike Valet Magazine, The Deli Magazine, Polari UK and Impose Magazine, among others, have featured and premiered their work.
Originally from Spain and Denmark, The Controversy's sound is influenced by artists like St Vincent, Beck, Air, Miike Snow, Portishead, Bjork and Massive Attack and has been described as a "seamless mash up of electronica with psychedelic rock, infectious pop songs which merge the melodies of 80's Depeche Mode and OMD with a touch of The Knife and Metronomy".
